WHOA!

Myself, Zoey (1.5yrs old) and Brian last year at out good friend's Serree and Mike's wedding.
Zoey had the honour of being their flower girl.
Check it out!

The Zoey Blog has a "Best Blog" nomination!  Way to go Daddy-o!
(by the way... VOTE!)

I've always told Brian (Zoey's Daddy... my partner in crime) that he's a wonderful and talented writer but sometimes it takes more than my word to convince him.  He's typically very humble about it.  I think mostly because he's so naturally talented, he doesn't think twice about it... he's good at SO many things... he's an amazing writer - he can pull you right into whatever he's sharing... he's artistic! man is he artistic and creative... he's athletic - he can pick up just about any sport and be more than decent at it...  he's smart - he aced all the exams he recently finished for the courses he's taking for work... he knows how to connect with youth - he saves lives, really. He'd probably make some sort of smart-a$@ comment about that but he knows its true.  If it weren't for him, the kids he deals with in his line of work might not be around.  He might not save their lives like a doctor, but he does a darn good job showing them there's a reason to live.  They still might make the choice to leave, but that choice is one out of his control.  He saves lives by taking interest, providing support and trying to provide a little inspiration.  Little does he know, he provides inspiration to a lot more people than just those that he works with... me included.

Congratulations Daddy... what a day!  You should be proud.  I sure am... I am everyday.
I love you more OXO

My sister is married...

It was a weird feeling... happy, sad, excited... I wasn't sure how to feel.

When a sibling that you've shared a room with, giggled in the dark with, gotten in trouble with (or avoided trouble with!), spent your entire childhood with... gets married... you feel like a chapter of your lives together has come to an end. Not to say that it didn't happen 10 years ago when we each went our separate ways, moving out to go to school, but for some reason that didn't feel the same as this moment. Any other wedding I take pictures at, I cry my eyes out when the siblings say their speeches but somehow I contained myself for Anette's. But, I did find myself smiling non-stop throughout the day. Maybe
because I'm just so happy that my one and only sister has found the man that makes her smile, not cry... the man that shows he cares, he doesn't hide it... the man that loves his family just as much as she does. I was honoured to be a part of her wedding day and still capture a few special moments (some of these photos I edited were taken by our mother from the 'bleacher seats'... great work ma!).

Thank you Anette... I love you so very much

Not only was I bridesmaid/photographer... I was also a hairstylist for the day!

The only girls available to help Anette with her dress... step-daughter Reilley and niece Zoey

Father of the bride

Zoey deemed Anette the 'Princess' and Mark the 'Prince'
